Modi Accuses Congress of Damaging Karnataka and Caring Only for One Family
BHOPAL: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday, addressing different rallies in poll-bound Madhya Pradesh, accused the Congress of caring for only one family and alleged that the party damaged Karnataka where development has come to a standstill.
Modi, addressing a public rally in Khandwa said, “look at the Congress government which was formed just six months ago in Karnataka..the CM does not know how long he is going to be the head of the state. They have spoiled Karnataka where the development activities have come to a standstill.”
Wherever the Congress government is formed by mistake, a competition to loot the state between its chief minister and his deputy is taking place and such news is coming regularly from Karnataka, the Prime Minister said.
Congress indulges in corruption and spoils the states where it forms government. They indulge in infighting and have no time for the people, Modi said.
Meanwhile, addressing a public meet in Seoni here, Modi took a veiled dig at Rahul Gandhi and his sister Priyanka and said the two Congress leaders were still seeking votes in the names of their ‘Dada-Dadi, Nana-Nani’.
He said, “The Congress leaders (the Gandhi siblings) are still saying that our ‘Dada-Dadi’, ‘Nana-Nani’ had done such and such things. They are still seeking votes in the names of their Dada-Dadi, Nana-Nani”.
He alleged that the Congress had given credit to only one family for the freedom struggle and named various government programmes, roads, airports, and other important institutions after the Nehru-Gandhi family members.
Modi lashed out at Congress for accusing the BJP of having no concern for the tribals, and said that it was the BJP government of Atal Bihari Vajpayee at the Centre which first created a tribal ministry and earmarked a separate budget for the development of the tribals.
“The Congress is creating confusion among the tribals. The word tribal does not sound good coming from them. These tribals have taken care of Lord Ram and made Lord Ram, Purushottam Ram. We are the disciples and worshippers of tribals who made Lord Ram, Purushottam Ram”, Modi said, while adding, “Some Congress leaders who even do not know where the tribes reside have started misguiding the tribals while visiting their areas”.
Targeting the alleged infighting within Congress, Modi said two of its senior leaders in Madhya Pradesh were fighting to establish their sons and also gave an apparent reference to the feud between Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and former deputy chief minister Sachin Pilot.
“The Congress is not fighting in the ensuing Assembly elections in Madhya Pradesh. Two big leaders of the party are fighting with each other”, he said.
