Tagore sends legal notice to Marri

HYDERABAD: The Congress’ TS in-charge Manickam Tagore sent a legal notice to Marri Shashidhar Reddy, who joined the BJP after resigning from the Congress, over certain remarks regarding the appointment of TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy.

In the notice dated December 1, claimed to be forwarded by an advocate, the Congress leader demanded withdrawal of the allegations that he received monetary gains from Revanth Reddy to get him appointed as the state Congress chief.

The notice pointed out that in the letter addressed to former party president Sonia Gandhi on the day of announcing his resignation, Shashidhar Reddy has made highly ‘objectionable, derogatory’ statements against Tagore.

"You have stated that my client and K. C. Venugopal, AICC general secretary, have received monetary gains to appoint Revanth Reddy as president of TPCC. Further you have gone to the extent of making further baseless allegations against my client and other office-bearers," the notice said.

When contacted the BJP leader Shashidhar Reddy said that he would not be commenting on it, as he was yet to receive the letter.
