Following the Congress victory in Telangana, there is a lot of speculation over who would be picked for the chief ministerial post. With many contenders for the post, the Congress high command is trying to make the right choice holding discussions with the party veterans.
The suspense over the Congress’ CM candidate is likely to end today. The party senior leaders will meet at AICC president Mallikarjun Kharge’s chamber this morning to decide on the issue. Before attending the meeting, Kharge spoke to the mediapersons and said that they would decide on the CM candidate.
Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister DK Shivakumar, Manikrao Thakre who had reached Delhi on Monday night are likely to meet Kharge this afternoon. Kharge had been informed about the existing political situation in Telangana by his trusted lieutenants.
On the other hand, Congress senior leaders Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, Uttam Kumar Reddy also reached Delhi from Telangana and would meet Kharge later in the day.
