BRS to Protest if Congress Government Cancels Past Schemes
HYDERABAD: The BRS on Friday accused the Congress government of watering down and even planning to shelve welfare programmes and schemes initiated during its regime, and called on its party leaders and workers to inform and educate people on this issue.
BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao, and senior party leader T. Harish Rao, during a teleconference with party leaders from across the state, said the party should organise protests against the Congress government’s alleged attitude.
The BRS leaders said they would bring pressure on the government to ensure continuity of Gruha Lakshmi and sheep distribution schemes along with other programmes implemented in the past by the BRS government.
The Congress government, out of spite, was preparing to cancel schemes that have helped tens of lakhs of people over the years. If any beneficiary loses the benefits on account of Congress actions, the BRS will not stay silent, they said.
