KCR visits TD senior leader Mandava Venkateswara Rao, invites him to join TRS
Hyderabad: The ground has been set for TD senior leader and former minister Mandava Venkateswara Rao to join the Telangana Rashtra Samiti.
He has reportedly taken the decision after TRS president and Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao visited his residence at Gayatri Hills in Hyderabad on Friday and invited him into the party.
The visit of Mr Chandrasekhar Rao holds significance as Mr Venkateswara Rao had represented Nizamabad Assembly constituency five times before the bifurcation of Andhra Pradesh and in this Lok Sabha elections, around 180 turmeric and red jowar framers have filed nominations in the constituency where TRS candidate K. Kavitha is also contesting.
Sources in the party said Mr Chandrasekhar Rao and Mr Venkateswara Rao discussed the current politics after which the CM asked the latter to return to active politics.
Sources said Mr Chandrasekhar Rao, Mr Venkateswara Rao and former minister Tummala Nageswara Rao were closely associated with each other when they were in the Telugu Desam.
Mr Venkateswara Rao is a senior politician of erstwhile Nizamabad district and was a minister in the then Telugu Desam government led by Mr N. Chandrababu Naidu.
