BRS' 'devious plans' won't frighten BJP cadre: Bandi Sanjay
HYDERABAD: On BJP Formation Day, BJP state president Bandi Sanjay Kumar wrote a letter to party members from Karimnagar jail, where he has been remanded to two weeks judicial custody in the SSC paper leak case, stating that jails were nothing new to him because he has been fighting for the people's causes and that he was arrested because he had questioned Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao's continued silence on the issue of paper leaks, putting the future of about 30 lakh youth at a grave risk.
Sanjay, who released the letter through his brother Bandi Sravan Kumar, stated that his arrest in the SSC paper leak case was part of a larger conspiracy by Chandrasekhar Rao to demoralise the party and the cadre, but that they would not be intimidated by the ruling party's “devious plans.”
Stating that there was no question of succumbing to the conspiracies of Chandrashekar Rao and giving up the fight, Sanjay recalled how Prime Minister Narendra Modi had withstood similar conspiracies hatched by the previous rulers against him post-Godhra violence in Gujarat in the form of court cases and malicious campaign in the media. “Yet, Modi did not backtrack and bounced back to power to become the Prime Minister with the support of party workers,” he said.
“Arresting me and harassing BJP workers is like hitting the ball to the ground. We shall bounce back with the same force,” Sanjay said in the letter.
Sanjay stated that the time had come to depose the corrupt Chandrashekar Rao government, which was embroiled in a slew of scandals including illegal liquor trade, drug peddling, question paper leakages, gambling, and land encroachment. "Because the BJP is exposing all of these scams involving KCR's son KTR and his daughter Kavitha, the government is targeting me and putting me behind bars in false cases in order to damage the BJP's image," he said.
Stating that he was prepared to go to jail for the larger interests of the people, Sanjay claimed that the BRS government had brought false charges against him because he had championed the cause of the 30 lakh unemployed youth who had to suffer as a result of the TSPSC paper leak.
In the letter, Sanjay reminded that the BRS government had “taken the lives of 27 Intermediate students due to malpractices in spot valuation in the past” and now, it was playing with the lives of SSC students. “It was the BJP which had raised its voice in Parliament over the sacrifices of the youths during the movement for separate state. Now, it is the same BJP which is fighting for the cause of the unemployed and the students,” he asserted.
Sanjay expressed regret that he would be unable to attend the Prime Minister's official programmes and public meeting in Hyderabad on April 8, and urged party leaders and workers to mobilise large crowds, including unemployed youth to make it a grand success.
