Sulking Balineni sheds tears, seeks action against YSRC leaders
VIJAYAWADA: Sulking former minister and Ongole YSR Congress MLA Balineni Srinivasa Reddy has expressed grief that some forces have been persecuting him politically over the past few days.
Speaking to the media in Ongole, Balineni, who is a close relative of Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, said everything from the Hawala to the land scam is being attributed to him by forces within the party in a systematic way. He maintained that he will continue to stand by YSRC party workers who have remained with the party.
At one stage, the Ongole MLA shed tears, regretting that the party's top leadership has remained silent on the anti-party activities being carried out by those who are out to tarnish his image.
Srinivas Reddy has been upset ever since he had been removed as a minister, while Adimulapu Suresh had been retained. He recently went on to resign as YSRC’s regional coordinator of the Prakasam, Nellore, and Kadapa districts.
Regarding criticism and allegations, the Ongole MLA said, “We did not come into politics by anyone's grace. We have been a political family since the beginning. My father contested on the Janata Party ticket.”
Earlier this week, Srinivas Reddy had met the Chief Minister, when he reportedly explained the reasons for his resignation as the regional coordinator. Although he has claimed that he resigned for health reasons, sources say he does not want to move out of the Prakasam district and lose control over party affairs.
Srinivas is upset that Jagan Mohan Reddy dropped him from the cabinet but continued Adimulapu Suresh, much against his wishes. He believes that Suresh is working against him in the district and damaging his reputation.
