Anupama blames liquor lobby for quitting, calls Siddaramaiah govt rule Rum Rajya'!
Ballari: A day after submitting her resignation over the issue of constructing a building at Kudligi town, deputy superintendent of police (DySP), Kudligi sub-division, Anupama Shenoy blamed the 'liquor lobby' for her resignation and slammed Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's governance as 'Rum' Rajya through her Facebook account on Sunday.
Though, attempts to contact Ms Shenoy over phone to seek her reaction on the resignation episode went in vain, she used social media to express her views effectively. Sharing a post of a friend who wrote on the incident which ended up in Ms Shenoy's resignation, she wrote in Kannada, which translated reads like this: 'This was the incident happened # Siddaramaiah's 'Rum' state'.
After this, she posted another post in Kannada which reads, ' Say salute to liquor lobby, people of Kudligi say salute to liquor lobby', obviously stating that she was frustrated over the so-called liquor lobby which had brought pressure on her while dealing with the case of extension of a liquor shop that would reportedly block the road leading to Ambedkar Bhavan in Kudligi town.
Next to this, she posted a picture saying "If you ever let down your head It should be just to admire your shoes" indicating that she did not want to sacrifice her self-respect before the liquor lobby or politicians and higher-ups while discharging her duty.
She posted two more pictures saying "When injustice becomes law, rebellion will become duty" and "If voting changed anything, they'd make it illegal" apparently expressing her anguish against those who allegedly created a atmosphere which forced her to take the extreme step of tendering her resignation.
Those who responded to her postings, expressed solidarity with her and pleaded her to take back her resignation. In an apparent reference to district-in-charge and labour minister P.T. Parameshwar Naik who got her transferred from Kudligi in January for keeping his phone call on hold, a posting said, ‘we know it’s all the mischevious act of Parameshwar'. In reply, she wrote, "I like it", obviously making it clear who was behind this episode.
Attempts to contact Ballari superintendent of police Mr R Chetan on her resignation letter failed. Meanwhile, Dalit leader Mr A. Manaiah said Ms Anupama had acted to protect the interests of Dalits by seeking a stop to the construction to extend a liquor shop. 'Being unbiased, she did her duty as per law and Dalit organisations are with her", he added.
