Bhatti bats for old pension scheme; promises to revoke GO 317
HYDERABAD: Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka assured state government employees that once the Congress returns to power in the next elections, it would revoke the contributory pension scheme (CPS) and restore the old pension scheme (OPS).
Addressing a press conference at Linganurupalli in Achampet constituency during his People’s March padayatra on day 82 on Tuesday, Bhatti said that the Congress government would also cancel GO 317 which forced the government employees to forego their native status.
He condemned the rounding up of district Congress leaders ahead of Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao’s visit to Nagarkurnool earlier in the day. “Is the Congress banned in Telangana or anywhere in the country,” Bhatti asked. “The days are approaching fast when the BRS which has been resorting to illegal arrests will be thrown into the Bay of Bengal.”
He said the CM was attending public functions where “only a bunch of his supporters and sycophants are in attendance,” Bhatti claimed.
People were living under the fear of false cases. Police personnel until the rank of DSP were taking orders from BRS MLAs. “Registering cases on the diktat of politicians endangers the democratic process,” Bhatti said.
TPCC vice president Mallu Ravi, DCC president Ch Vamsikrishna, former MLA Balu Naik and other Congress leaders were among the others present on the occasion.
