Former BJP MLA says KCR coverts in party
HYDERABAD: Discordant notes in the Telangana BJP appear set to stay with former party MLA from Patancheru, T. Nandeeshwar Goud, on Tuesday claiming that it had within its ranks “KCR’s coverts” and that he had complained to the party’s top leadership on this issue.
Goud said that he had also revealed the names of the “coverts” to the party leadership and sought action against these leaders. In statements to some media persons, Goud said “If this is not true, I would not be speaking about it. This is damaging to the party and will cause loss to it. Can’t remain silent in such circumstances when people of the state are looking towards the BJP for leadership for the state.”
He said there is strong information that some leaders in the party were leaking information about party meetings that happen behind closed doors, and added that he had passed on this information to party’s national general secretaries in-charge of BJP affairs in Telangana, Sunil Bansal and Tarun Chugh, as well as to the party’s national secretary Arvind Menon.
“I am not the first to say there are KCR’s coverts in the BJP,” he said adding, “others in the party have said this too.”
While not taking names, Goud said it was not right for some BJP leaders to say that the party was weaker than other parties and such comments are causing a lot of concern among the party’s workers. “If no action is taken against this small group of three or four leaders, I am ready to go to the high command and inform Amit Shah,” he said.
