Hyderabad: The BJP seeks to end the rule of dynastic and familial parties, along with their corrupt practices, across the country and the BRS in Telangana, newly appointed state BJP chief G. Kishan Reddy said on his maiden visit to the state in his new role.
“The goals for which the state was formed have not been met. Hundreds of youths have given up their lives for statehood. We won in some Assembly seats and put up a good show in the GHMC polls. The BRS cannot remain in power after the polls and should be democratically dislodged as it has failed the people,” Kishan Reddy said in a press conference.
Former TS BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar who also arrived from Delhi welcomed Kishan Reddy’s appointment and said the party will fight the family rule and corruption of BRS. “I urge all people to make the July 8th meet in Warangal a grand success,” he said.
Kishan Reddy said that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao started his treachery with the Dalits, by denying them the CM post, not keeping his promise to waive farm loans completely, failing to deliver urea for free and setting up a steel factory at Bayyaram, and letting down the unemployed, by failing to conduct timely recruitments and failing to give the promised ₹3,016 dole.
Continuing to reel out BRS’ failed promises, he said, “The government failed to build four NIMS-level hospitals in the four corners of Hyderabad. It failed to open Nizam Sugars and did not keep its promise to provide KG to PG education for 40 lakh students. AP has so far built 15 lakh houses but Telangana has failed to deliver the promised double bedrooms though the CM spoke so much about the scheme. They failed to give three acres of land for Dalits but allocated 11 acres for their own office.”
“The Metro Rail, which should have been extended till Falaknuma, has been stopped at Afzalgunj. The BRS has failed the students on the education front and its allocations have fallen from 10.89 per cent in 2014 to a dismal 6.29 per cent in 2023. Universities don’t have minimum facilities and the employees were troubled by GO 370; and the job calendar has not been released,” Kishan Reddy said.
On the occasion, Kishan Reddy also spoke in detail about Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s upcoming visit to the state on July 8.
“PM Modi will come to Warangal to participate in many development programmes. He will address a public meeting at the Arts College,” Kishan Reddy.
The PM will lay the foundation stone for a railway manufacturing unit on over 150 acres. The unit will manufacture 2,400 wagons per year and ₹521 crore has been sanctioned for the first phase, he said.
“The Centre has so far spent more than ₹1,20,000 crore on highways which pass through the state,” Kishan Reddy said.
