BS Anand Singh: No more polls for me
Ballari: If there is one man who has shown he can hold off the powerful Reddy brothers in Bellary, it is Hosapete Congress MLA Mr BS Anand Singh, who on Wednesday, sprang a surprise with the shock announcement of his retirement from electoral politics. In the same breath, he added he would continue in active politics.
Seen as a negotiating tactic by a disgruntled MLA who despite delivering the key seat to the Congress found himself deprived of a cabinet berth, Singh said : " I decided not to contest elections as all I wanted was to get elected to assembly thrice in a row. Now that I've achieved it, I will make way for others". He was speaking at a programme organised by Valmiki Nayaka community. Mr Singh, two time BJP legislator joined Congress ahead of 2018 assembly polls but won with a wafer-thin margin.
