ED overlooks Corruption in Shivraj govt: Priyanka Gandhi
Bhopal: AICC general secretary Priyanka Gandhi on Thursday accused the Enforcement Directorate (ED) of overlooking the ‘corruptions’ in the Madhya Pradesh government.
Addressing a public meeting at Mohankheda in Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh, Ms Gandhi alleged that the ED was targeting the Congress governments in the state, but not bothered to probe the ‘corruptions’ in the BJP government in the state.
She alleged that as many as 250 scandals broke out during the 18-year-rule of Shivraj Singh Chouhan in the state.
BJP has however dismissed the charges, saying that Ms Gandhi has no knowledge about Madhya Pradesh and only read the speech produced to her by state Congress chief Kamal Nath.
“She (Ms Gandhi) is now aware of Madhya Pradesh. She makes wild allegations without any basis. She visited the state as a guest politician. She read the speech produced to her by Mr Nath”, BJP spokesman Dr Hitesh Vajpayee said.
The Congress leader was sceptical of implementation of the women’s reservation bill passed in the parliament recently.
The bill may not be implemented at least in the coming ten years, she claimed.
She said that the Congress, if voted to power in Madhya Pradesh in the year-end assembly elections, would fulfil its promises of providing a monthly incentive of Rs 1500 to women and writing the crop loans of farmers.
