Modi: KCR has given BJP something to talk about

KCR\'s \'Raja Babu Virus\' in state, BJP is the vaccine

Hyderabad: When Prime Minister Narendra Modi on October 1 revealed that Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao a few years ago had sought the BRS’ entry into the NDA, it did not come as a surprise to some senior BJP leaders here.

“This is something the PM would mention in conversations with party leaders. No one expected him to expose KCR,” party sources said.

More than anything else, a BJP leader from a north Telangana district said, Modi’s revelations gave the party cadre at the ground level something to talk about. “After being on the back foot for long on the Kavitha arrest issue in the Delhi liquor scam, there is definitely a change of mood, that all is not lost,” the BJP leader said.

BJP general secretary Tarun Chugh, in charge of the state party affairs, said Modi’s speech at Mahbubnagar had set the tone for the BJP campaign. “The current against the BRS and the KCR is strong at the ground level. The people do want a change and it is up to the BJP to eradicate KCR and his family’s ‘Raja Babu Virus’ that has plagued Telangana. The BJP is the vaccine for this virus,” he said.

“Modi led the fight against the coronavirus and the BJP will do the same in Telangana and get rid of this BRS-created virus that has sapped the state of everything,” Chugh said.
