Ambati challenges JS chief to prove Ippatam house demolitions
VIJAYAWADA: Water resources minister Ambati Rambabu said Jana Sena chief and actor K. Pawan Kalyan is unfit for politics, as he is shunning ethics.
Speaking to media here on Saturday, he wanted the cine actor to prove that even a single house in Ippatam has been demolished. He maintained that only toilets and compound walls, which had been constructed on encroached lands, had been removed in the village as part of the road-widening operations.
The minister accused Pawan Kalyan of conspiring to divide society on the basis of castes and regions by visiting Ippatam. He said Pawan has gone on record saying he will topple the YSR Congress government. He maintained that YSRC government is not the setting of a movie to be demolished and disposed of after a shooting. “It is a government democratically elected by people,” he pointed out.
Rambabu explained that removal of encroachments is part of the road expansion project from Pedavadlapudi to the highway via Ippatam. Mangalagiri-Tadepalli Corporation authorities had marked the extent of demolitions in January-February of this year itself. Thereafter, notices had been served. Only then, encroachments on public lands have been removed, he underlined.
