CPI to protest all over AP during PM Modi’s visit of state

The CPI state secretary said their party’s protest is to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi do justice to AP

VIJAYAWADA: Communist Party of India will organise protests all over Andhra Pradesh state on November 11 and November 12 when Prime Minister Narendra Modi visits Visakhapatnam.

Announcing this here on Sunday, CPI state secretary K. Ramakrishna said the left party’s protests will be to demand cancellation of decision to privatise Visakhapatnam Steel Plant, announcement granting Special Category Status to AP, and fulfilment of bifurcation assurances made by central government.

The state-wide protests will also highlight the repressive policies of the Jagan Mohan Reddy government, he underlined.

The CPI state secretary said their party’s protest is to make Prime Minister Narendra Modi do justice to AP. He expressed anger that after taking over the state, YSRC government has turned out to be an evil and demonic regime.

Ramakrishna pointed out that the state government is fully cooperating with the Modi dispensation at the centre even though the latter is neglecting fulfilment of central government’s promises made to the residual state when Andhra Pradesh got bifurcated into AP and Telangana.

He accused Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy of totally failing in getting funds from the NDA-led government despite YSRC extending fully cooperating with the BJP during the past three years.

The CPI secretary observed that when Prime Minister is visiting the state, Jagan Mohan Reddy should actually be questioning Narendra Modi as to what the latter has done for Andhra Pradesh.

Ramakrishna objected to decision of the Jagan government to mobilise three lakh people for welcoming PM Modi. He maintained that this shows AP Chief Minister is dancing to the tunes of BJP.
