Shift focus to Lok Sabha polls, KTR tells party leaders

Hyderabad: BRS working president K.T. Rama Rao said that the party had the recent Assembly elections because Dalit Bandhu beneficiaries did not support it,

Citing the example of Nizamsagar, Rama Rao said, "I did not expect Shinde to lose in Jukkal. The impact of 'Bandhu' schemes boomeranged." He speaking at the party’s preparatory meeting for the Zaheerabad parliamentary constituency here on Sunday.

"There was a strong opinion that it would have been better if the candidates were changed. Let's not allow such mistakes to happen in the general elections,” he said.

He told the meeting that N.T. Rama Rao had introduced many good schemes but lost the 1989 polls. However, the TD won 19 out of 21 Lok Sabha seats in the first phase, he said.

He said that people who had voted for Congress are also suffering because BRS president K. Chandrashekar Rao was not the Chief Minister. He accused the Congress government of cancelling BRS schemes and implementing regressive measures.
