AP puts restrictions on media point live telecast

All other live telecasts are permitted only after half-an-hour of the completion of Assembly proceedings.

Vijayawada: The TD is trying to control the Opposition by imposing restrictions on Assembly premises with the help of legislative affairs’ authorities.

Assembly instructions have restricted media point live telecast while the House proceedings are on.

All other live telecasts are permitted only after half-an-hour of the completion of Assembly proceedings.

Generally when the Opposition is not satisfied with the explanation in any issue, they exhibit their discontent by walking out or boycotting the Session.

During this time, the protesting leaders app-ear at media point and express their discontent. This is generally captured live as it is intended to be interesting with their boycott.

The government is now giving it a second thou-ght. According to Assembly sources, the Opposition tries to publicise issues politically by pro-testing either by walking out or boycotting and also the key discussions in Assembly are being wrongly conveyed, if permitted for media point live.

The authorities are also planning second media point on Assembly premises so that the ruling party, too, could get a media platform.

The legislative affairs authorities are planning to block the ways where the Opposition could make use of media to publicise and politicise matters.
