KCR deceiving people in the name of devotion and development: Revanth
WARANGAL: Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao has deceived devotees and priests with his false promises of developing the 600-year-old Sri Anjaneya Swamy temple in Kondagattu, alleged TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy.
Before starting the Haath Se Haath Jodo pada yatra, he visited the historic temple in Jagtial district and offered special prayers on Monday.
Speaking on the occasion, Reddy said that Rao was cheating people in the name of development while he is robbing in the name of devotion.
MLC K. Kavitha after completing Hanuman Chalisa Parayanam at Kondagattu promised the devotees that the government will construct a 125-feet Lord Hanuman statue but has deceived them, he said.
Over 70 persons died in a tragic accident at Kondagattu a few years back yet the government has neither helped families of the victims nor has it initiated to prevent accidents.
The government must take steps to prevent encroachment of the 800 acres of forest land surrounding the temple, he said. He demanded an immediate sanction of Rs 500 crore for taking up developmental activities at Kondagattu temple.
Later, Reddy inspected the Potharam reservoir in Kodimyala mandal and interacted with the farmers. They informed that the government has not taken up construction of bridge and bund pertaining to the reservoir. Apart from that it did not sanction compensation to around 135 oustees.
If the government had taken up the pending construction works of Potharam reservoir, then farmers of Konapur, Surampet, Potharam, Kodimyala would get sufficient water for irrigation purposes. But the government seems least interested in helping the farmers, he said.
When he could spend lakhs of crores on Kaleshwaram project, why is Rao not taking up pending works of Potharam reservoir that cost Rs 25 crore, he questioned.
After interacting with bidi workers in Ishtapuram village, the Congress leader alleged that Rao had given posts to all his family members but was sanctioning posts to only one member in a family. When Congress comes to power, it will sanction pensions to both wife and husband in a family and will implement the Bangaru Thalli scheme, he said.
