10 Hindu activists killed in Parivar feuds: Ramalinga Reddy
Bengaluru: Countering the BJP’s claim that about 24 Hindu activists were murdered during the tenure of the Siddaramaiah government, Home Minister Mr Ramalinga Reddy said that about 10 Hindu activists were murdered by Sangh Parivar members themselves, due to personal rivalry.
Speaking to reporters here on Sunday, Mr Reddy also asserted that the Sangh Parivar was behind the suicide of Chikkamagaluru DySP Kallappa Handibagh.
Releasing the data, Mr Reddy said that the BJP was claiming that 24 Hindu activists were killed for communal reasons-something even Prime Minister Narendra Modi had been saying. However, only 12 of the 24 Hindu activists were killed by members of PFI, SDPI and activists of other organisations.
In the rest of the cases, personal rivalry was behind the murder.
Meanwhile, 11 members of the minority community were also murdered by Sangh Parivar members. While eight of the murders took place in coastal districts, one each have taken place in Mysuru, Hubballi-Dharawad and Kodagu districts, he said.
Apart from this, DySP Mr Kallappa Handibagh committed suicide due to the mental harassment meted out to him by Sangh Parivar members. In all cases, the accused have been arrested and charge sheets have been filed in the courts, Mr Reddy added.
