Congress will win Mysuru by small margin, says Sa Ra Mahesh
Mysuru: Tourism Minister and JD(S) leader Mr Sa Ra Mahesh has said that his colleague Mr G.T. Devegowda’s statement about JD(S) workers voting for the BJP in the Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency, is related to only one booth (Udbur in Chamundeswari assembly seat of the constituency.
Speaking to media persons here on Monday, he said, "as per the decision taken by senior leaders, JD(S) workers have worked for the Congress candidate in the entire Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency. The coalition candidate will certainly win in the constituency, but the margin may be less," he said.
He added that the coalition candidate (Nikhil Kumaraswamy) will win by one lakh votes in the Mandya Lok Sabha seat where he is locked in a bitter battle wiht Independent candidate Sumalatha Ambareesh.
The minister also disclosed that the Congress and JD(S) plan to field their own candidates in the coming local body elections and may also go for a friendly fight. “Leaders of both parties are prepared for this. If we go for a local body poll pact, many unsuccessful aspirants may join other parties or may contest as independent candidates. So a coalition is difficult for the local body elections. But if senior leaders decide to have a pact, we will go for it," he added.
