Karnataka elections: PM Modi tries to win over youths

While, asking the youths who are first time voters in Karnataka, he wanted them to be cautious' on the Congress promise on creation of jobs

Bengaluru: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday claimed that the three-and-half years of Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) rule over Karnataka created about 30 lakh jobs and accused the poll promise of the Congress party to create 10 lakh jobs in the State in private sector over next years, if voted to power, designed to “cheat” youths. Modi said “It is a lie” and stated that for the Congress party “Vikas (development) remains only on papers.”

While, asking the youths who are first time voters in Karnataka, Modi wanted them to be ‘cautious’ on the Congress promise on creation of jobs and stated that Congress aims to create 10 lakh jobs, that comes to about two lakh jobs every year but we have created 30 lakh jobs in Karnataka. By creating a mere 10 lakh jobs, Modi stated that Congress intends to put Karnataka in the ‘reverse’ gear.

Modi alleged the Congress party wants to put an end to the policies of the BJP government and stated that policies of Congress party would not draw investments to the State and make investors go out of the State which would affect job creation here.

He asked the first time voters “Can Congress do development?” and accused that “Its aim is corruption.” His other question to first time voters was “Can Congress shape your future?.” Modi replied “Never.”

Modi told the youths that Congress party never understood the problems of the youths and he wants to put an end to the problems faced by parents and make the future of the youths secure.

Modi accused the Congress party ‘ignored’ women’s empowerment and girls’ education and under BJP rule in the country, girls have access to higher education and girls are motivated to study science and technology. To make hassle free recruitment for women in armed forces, Modi said hurdles have been removed and girls are getting into Sainik Schools.

Modi said every two-days a college was opened in the State and a university was dedicated every week and more than 300 medical colleges have been constructed in Karnataka.
