Congress will suffer in coalition with JD(S), warns B S Yeddyurappa
Mysuru: In an obvious reference to Janata Dal (S) supremo, H D Deve Gowda and Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy, state BJP chief, B S Yeddyurappa claimed here on Wednesday that “both father and son” had conspired to finish off the Congress.
Speaking to reporters here, he warned that the Congress would come off the worst in the coalition it had formed with the JD(S).
“There is absolutely no doubt about this. Its hard to say how long this coalition government will last,” he said.
Noting that the JD (S) and Congress had continued their alliance even for the Jayanagar poll and Council elections, he declared, “ No matter what they do, we will do our best to win as we have lost by a very small margin in 20 constituencies.”
Mr Yeddyurappa revealed that he had cancelled his tour for the Council elections as his helicopter was grounded owing to poor weather conditions.
Supporters of MLA Tanveer Sait , who did not make it to the Cabinet, staged a protest near Mysuru Bengaluru ring road, burning tyres and even attempting to set themselves on fire in anger. The police rushed to the scene and brought the situation under control.
