Congress says BJP in jitters after Bharat Jodo Yatra

KARIMNAGAR: The Congress organised the first anniversary of Rahul Gandhi’s Bharat Jodo Yatra at various places including the Husnabad constituency in Karimnagar district on Thursday.

Former MP Ponnam Prabhakar and former MLA A. Praveen Reddy participated in the programme as part of a call given by the AICC and the TPCC to mark the occasion.

Addressing a gathering, Prabhakar accused the BJP-led government at the Centre of destroying all democratic institutions in the country and spreading hatred within the country. “To protect the integrity of the nation, Rahul Gandhi took up the Bharat Jodo Yatra from south to north with the slogan ‘Nafrath Chodo — Bharat Jodo”.

The former MP said the BJP used its WhatsApp university to portray Rahul Gandhi as an incapable leader. It created many hurdles and tried to stop the yatra in the name of Coronavirus. “Despite all hurdles, our leader completed the yatra successfully, which has spread jitters within the BJP,” he underlined.

Prabhakar accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah of handing over the country’s assets to Adani and Ambani, including railways, airports and the LIC. He underlined that constituents of the I.N.D.I.A. will foil such attempts of the BJP unitedly.

“Afraid of I.N.D.I.A. succeeding in its attempt, Modi now wants to change the name of the country from India to Bharat. Whatever the name of the country may be, there should be no hatred, that was the motto of Rahul Gandhi,” the former MP underlined.

He pointed out that Congress has registered massive victories in Himachal Pradesh and Karnataka. The same is going to be repeated in Telangana state during the forthcoming elections, he added.
