Marri Shashidhar Reddy Writes to Governor Over KCR\'s Health Update

Hyderabad: BJP senior leader Marri Shashidhar Reddy wrote a letter to Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan to direct the Chief Secretary to take measures for the treatment of Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, who had not been seen in in public for two weeks.

“There has been a veil of secrecy about his health. It was revealed a few days ago that he had a mild viral lung infection. Yesterday, suddenly a disclosure was made by his son and minister K.T. Rama Rao that his father has a secondary (bacterial) infection of the lungs,” he said.

He said regular health bulletins are issued by hospital authorities and state government health officials when high public officials. “This is not to be seen in this instance," the BJP leader said.

He cited the instances of Kanshi Ram and J. Jayalalithaa whose health condition, he alleged, was kept secret.

He claimed that the CM was under pressure regarding on the succession issue and said the people had the right to be briefed about their Chief Minister by competent medical authorities.
