Rain spoils BSY Yatra in Hassan

The state BJP president was accompanied by former Minister V Somanna, MPs, Shobha Karandalaje and V Sreeramulu.

Hassan: The Bharatiya Janata Party’s “Parivarthana Yatra” was not the runaway success it had hoped it would be here with nature playing spoilsport this time.

As the rally entered Arasikere town in Hassan district on Monday it was greeted by rain, forcing its state chief, B S Yeddyurappa to address the people holding an umbrella. And his audience had to cope with the wet weather as it tried to hear him.

The state BJP chief once again came down hard on the Siddaramaiah government for” doing nothing” to develop the state and declared that his party would win 150 Assembly seats in the coming election to form the next government.

Accusing the state government of spending days in slumber, he said that the BJP yatra was intended to wake it up as it travelled across 224 Assembly constituencies in 75 days.

“Siddaramaiah should give up his arrogance or else he will be taught a lesson,” he warned.

While accusing both the Congress and JD(S) of pracitising dynastic politics, he claimed that state JD(S) chief, H.D. Kumaraswamy could not be trusted and was a turncoat.

He went on to remind the people of Arasikere about the achievements of the last BJP government in the state such as providing an underground drainage, 24x7 drinking water and power supply in areas that did not have them.
