Raja Singh seeks withdrawal of show cause notice to him
HYDERABAD: Goshamahal legislator T. Raja Singh sought withdrawal of the show cause notice issued to him by Mangalhat police for allegedly violating conditions set forth by the High Court while setting aside the PD Act against him. The show cause notice is based on false and baseless allegations, he contended.
His counsel K. Karuna Sagar said that the notice sought response in two days as to why action cannot be initiated against Singh for violating court conditions. Unfortunately, not replying to the notice is self-conceived as a possible step for taking ‘legal action’.
He said that Singh’s reference in his social media post on Tuesday is a reference not to a community but to a gender. Therefore it is not against any religion as perceived myopically by the police. He said that Singh does not have or operate any Facebook account but there are many Facebook accounts being operated on his name without his consent and knowledge, added Karuna Sagar.
“The notice is bereft of detail as to what is objectionable and which community is being targeted. In the absence of the same, the notice is an empty formality and effected by colorable exercise of power,” said Karuna Sagar in the reply.
