Cong govt interested in political maneuvering than assisting distressed ryots: BJP

Vijayendra alleged that the SEP-TSP funds designated for the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) community are being diverted

Belagavi: BJP state president BY Vijayendra has asserted that the state government's focus is not on assisting distressed farmers but rather on political maneuvering and catering to minority appeasement.

"The state government lacks genuine concern for providing relief to farmers during drought conditions in the state. While farmers are left without compensation due to a depleted treasury, the chief minister announced a substantial Rs 10,000 crore allocation for minorities," he told reporters.

He alleged that the SEP-TSP funds designated for the Scheduled Castes (SC) and Scheduled Tribes (ST) community are being diverted. "It is evident that the government's primary agenda is not addressing the plight of distressed farmers. Rather, it is preoccupied with political agendas and minority appeasement," Vijayendra alleged.

"Over 50 farmers have committed suicide. Despite the Congress government enjoying the support of 136 MLAs, it seems indifferent to the escalating farmer crisis. We intend to scrutinize these issues and demand answers," Vijayendra added.
