TRS men sweat it out
Hyderabad: Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao’s fiat has ministers, MPs, MLAs and other senior TRS leaders sweating it out under the hot sun for Mission Kakatiya and Mission Bhagiratha works. Right from Deputy Chief Minister Kadiam Srihari, ministers are on the field, supervising the government’s flagship programmes. The result is a sea of pink — pink turbans, bowls, towels and even curtains. Not to mention the ubiquitous pink banners, buntings flags and posters that pop up wherever a big-shot party functionary goes.
Their weather-beaten faces indicate that the TRS bigwigs are toiling hard under the scorching sun. Mr Srihari has been participating in Mission Kakatiya works in Warangal district almost on a daily basis. “The works are going on in full swing. The programmes are a role model for the country,” he said. The effort is clearly visible on the faces of the TRS leaders. “The weather is sizzling. You cannot stand under the sun even for a couple of minutes. We are having a tough time on the field,” said a TRS leader.
Irrigation minister T. Harish Rao, who launched Mission Kakatiya works in Tornakal in Siddipet mandal of Medak district on Thursday said, “The first phase of the Mission was quite successful and second phase too will be. Everyone is participating, notwithstanding the hot sun.” Minister Jupally Krishna Rao, along with several TRS leaders participated in the programme in the sweltering heat at Narasiahpally in Mahbubnagar district. MLC K. Narayan Reddy, Congress MLA Vamsi Chand Reddy, Mahbubnagar MLA Srinivas Goud and others gave him company.
TRS MP Balkasuman sported a pinkish-green pagree to beat the hot sun and shifted silt from a dried up tank in Vempally tank in Mancherial mandal in a pink colour bowl! Some ministers like Mr Krishna Rao also tried their hand at operating JCBs while others just dug up the tankbed and carried the silt to the tractor for dumping outside.
