Karnataka: Rahul Gandhi boards BMTC bus, interacts with passengers

Bengaluru: Disqualified Lok Sabha member and Congress leader Rahul Gandhi on Monday travelled in a bus belonging to Bengaluru Metropolitan Corporation (BMTC) by paying a travel fare of Rs 25. His journey in buses was aimed at interaction with passengers and also to inform them on poll promises made by the Congress party to them in the ensuing Assembly polls.

He travelled in the bus and told the passengers about the Congress party's free bus travel scheme to all women in BMTC and KSRTC buses. Rahul Gandhi also spoke to women at the bus stop in Lingarajapuram.

A woman passenger excited to have travelled with Rahul Gandhi in the bus stated that she was lucky to have close sight of Rahul Gandhi and never dreamt of having an opportunity to chat with him. Before, an interaction started with him, she said Rahul Gandhi got down from the bus. Another passenger said, Rahul Gandhi was humble with the passengers and interacted with the fellow passengers.

BMTC conductor stated as a passenger Rahul Gandhi paid travel fare of Rs 25 to him for his journey.

Passengers had an opportunity to get close up shots of Rahul Gandhi over their mobile phones and reciprocating to the wish of the passengers, Rahul himself clicked selfies for the passengers while travelling in the bus.

Before he got on to the bus, Rahul Gandhi had a chat with the passengers waiting for the bus and took selfies with them. On boarding a BMTC bus, Rahul Gandhi stood for some time before he got a seat next to a woman passenger and started interaction with them. After alighting from the bus, Rahul Gandhi was cheered by passengers at the bus stop. Prior to boarding a BMTC bus, Rahul Gandhi had coffee at a coffee shop on Cunningham road.
