Hyderabad: The Kanchanbagh police registered a case against BJP Goshamahal MLA T. Raja Singh for allegedly hurting religious sentiments while referring to the Ajmer Sharif dargah of Rajasthan during a speech. The video had gone viral on Monday, police said.
“Around 11 pm on Monday we received a complaint against Raja Singh from Mahamud Ali, a resident of Yakutpura, who stated that the speech delivered by the MLA had hurt the sentiments of the devotees of the dargah,” said Kanchanbag inspector C. Umamaheshwar Rao.
“We registered a case of causing deliberate and malicious acts, intended to outrage religious feelings and insulting religion or religious beliefs,” Umamaheshwar said.
