Rebellion brews in TRS camp
Hyderabad: Rebellion is brewing in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi with the announcement of the first list of candidates for 105 seats. IT minister K.T. Rama Rao sprang into action on Friday to douse the fire and to pacify dissidents.
TRS leaders who lost tickets due to defectors from other parties have revolted in districts and started ‘camp politics’ to bring pressure on the high command to change the list.
The dissidence is most evident in undivided Ranga Reddy, Mahbubnagar, Nalgonda, Hyderabad and Adilabad districts. The TRS high command is urging the dissidents not to take any ‘hasty decisions’, saying that there may be changes by the time the B-forms are issued.
Party leaders who have been associated with the TRS for long and those who defected to the TRS from other parties after they were promised tickets, revolted when their names were not in the list of candidates released by TRS chief and caretaker CM K. Chandrasekhar Rao on Thursday. Some of these leaders reportedly got in touch with other parties for tickets and are trying to secure tickets from the Congress, TDP, BJP and TJS.
