25 new software introduced for transparent polls in Telangana: CEO

The CEO also selected at least seven brand ambassadors including a transgender, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand's son, and others

Hyderabad: The Telangana Election Commission officials have introduced as many as 25 new software for conducting the elections in a transparent manner. The CEO would utilize the new software for regular functioning and to prevent untoward incidents. The CEO also selected at least seven brand ambassadors including a transgender, Hyderabad Police Commissioner C V Anand's son, and others. These ambassadors would create awareness among the voters to cast their rights at polling stations.

The CEO Vikas Raj said that they noticed the rural people are showing more interest in casting their votes than urban people. "We request all the citizens residing in urban localities including Hyderabad and other cities to utilize their right to vote by visiting polling stations. We will support them in conducting free and fair elections. It is the duty and responsibility of voters whether they are rich, educated, or high profile. The Election Commission uses the service of ambassadors in terms of creating awareness among the voters.

Speaking about the banned Maoists menace, Vikas Raj said that they have conducted a meeting with inter-state police, and the state Nodal officer, and Additional DGP, Law, and Order Sanjay Jain, is on the job in coordinating with the district officers to prevent such incidents.

As per the second Special Summary Revision (SSR) in all 119 Assembly Constituencies, the total number of voters in Telangana state stood at 3.06, 42.333 wherein 1,53,73,066 are male voters and 1,52,51,797 are female voters and 2,133 voters belong to the third gender.

The state has 119 assembly constituencies and the number of polling stations is 35,356. The total number of general electors in the state is 3,06,26,996. There are 2,742 NRI electors and 15,337 service electors in the electoral roll. The number of young electors in the age group of 18-19 stands at 4,76,597.
