BJP urges Telangana poll chief to ensure correct voters list
HYDERABAD: The BJP on Friday urged the Chief Electoral Officer Vikas Raj, principal secretary, not to publish the final voters list until it is corrected completely.
In a memorandum, BJP leaders said they had earlier taken to the CEO’s notice large discrepancies in voter lists and had provided some examples. There were also several issues related to voters who had moved to different residences, the addition of names in the lists of people who do not exist resulting in bogus voters, missing pictures of voters, or incorrect details, and several voters being listed on a single address.
The party said the CEO must ensure every eligible voter is listed genuine issues faced by voters are addressed and bogus voters should be eliminated before publishing the rolls.
