Komatireddy addresses farmers power woes
Hyderabad: A farmer, Vidyadhar Reddy, from Motakondur mandal of Yadadri district thanked Congress leader and MP Komatireddy Venkat Reddy for getting his agricultural electricity connection problem resolved. The farmer had complained on August 31 that they were hardly getting three to four hours of three phase power.
Venkat Reddy, the Congress’ star campaigner, held a press meet on the issue and demanded that the electricity department look into the issue. Following this, the electricity department restored 15 hours of three phase power per day from September 4.
The issue of 24-hour power supply has been in the news for some time now with Venkat Reddy challenging the BRS government to prove its claim of providing round the clock quality power to the farm sector. This after the BRS had raised a hue and cry about TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy’s comments in the US that were taken to suggest that farmers don’t need 24-hour power supply.
