Nellore MLA slams Anam Ramnarayana over voter deletion allegations

Nellore: Atmakur MLA Mekapati Vikram Reddy has criticised Telugu Desam leader and Venkatagiri MLA Anam Ramnarayana Reddy for making baseless allegations on deletions of voters’ names in Atmakur constituency.

Speaking to reporters at Sangam in Nellore district on Thursday, Vikram Reddy said: "There is absolutely no involvement of volunteers in the voter deletion process. Booth level officers, tahsildars, and revenue divisional officers are the sole authorities responsible for monitoring the addition and deletion of voters in any constituency."

He felt that Ramnarayana Reddy's apparent lack of knowledge about these processes has led to unfairly targeting of volunteers during his visit to Sangam mandal.

The MLA accused Anam Ramnarayana Reddy of attempting to meddle in Atmakur. "Anam came to Sangam PAC meeting and made allegations regarding voter deletion process in the segment. The Venkatagiri legislator has no right to participate in an official PAC meeting in Sangam or question officials in the segment," he underlined.

Vikram Reddy clarified that the PAC meeting organised on Sunday had been specifically convened to dwell on issues faced by farmers in the mandal. He maintained that volunteers have been working for the public, often receiving only a minimum honorarium for their efforts.
