YSRC Chorus for Action Against Naidu
VIJAYAWADA: The YSRC is making good use of the I-T notices to former chief minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, vis-à-vis the Rs 118 crore scam, to highlight the ”wrong indulgences” of the Telugu Desam and its chief.
YSRC leaders are, in a chorus, pressing the demand for the arrest of Naidu in connection with the alleged irregularities in the Amaravati constructions during Naidu’s term as chief minister between 2014 and 2019.
Social welfare minister Merugu Nagarjuna said that despite taking a '118 crore “bribe”, Naidu wasted Rs 100 crore on luxurious travels through special flights and another '80 crore in the name of Navanirmana Deekshas.
He asked Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan to open his mouth about the “corruption” of his ‘adopted father’ (Naidu).
Political analysts say Naidu turned aggressive against the Jagan Mohan Reddy government for the past few months by conducting the Badude Badudu, Idem Kharma Rasthraniki, Psycho Povali-Cycle Ravali and other protests. He visited many districts and recently started visits of irrigation projects to highlight the failure of the present government to complete these. Against this backdrop, the rival YSRC is now out to floor Naidu.
The Yuvagalam walkathon of Nara Lokesh had also boosted the morale of Naidu and he recently stepped up his criticism against CM Jagan Mohan Reddy. Though the issue of I-T notices being sent to Naidu was in the background for the past two years, the Jagan Mohan Reddy government now brought it forward with a view to fixing Naidu.
YSRC leaders are spreading news about the I-T notices through social media platforms and pressing the AP CID to take the matter to its logical conclusion.
Notably, at first, Naidu and the pro-TD media did not care about the I-T notices issue. But, when it was taken up by the national media and turned viral in social media platforms, Naidu felt the need to defend himself. He began seeking the people’s sympathy by raising the possibility of his arrest.
Minister Nagarjuna claimed that while Naidu had a roll with public money, Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy “did not waste a single pie” but distributed government money to the poor and the needy.”
He said that during the YSRC rule, Rs 2.31 lakh crore was distributed by the government to the welfare scheme beneficiaries across the state.
Nagarjuna appealed to the SC, ST, BC, Minorities and the OBCs to know the real face of Naidu. He said Naidu was complaining about his likely arrest. “Investigating agencies will arrest anyone found guilty in one or other cases. No one is above law,” he said.
