Modi Achieved 60 Years Work in 10 Years, Says Pawan Kalyan

Mudiraj Sangham chief says Modi backed Etala for CM post

Hyderabad: Jana Sena founder Pawan Kalyan, the BJP’s ally, on Tuesday said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had achieved in a decade what would have otherwise taken six decades to achieve.

Sharing the dais with the Prime Minister at the BJP’s ‘BC Atma Gourava Sabha' at LB Stadium, Kalyan said, “I always looked up to a strong leader to contain the terrorist attacks that were happening. We know how they have been contained now. Programmes like Jal Jeevan Mission and Ayushman Bharat have come in handy for people. Modi’s policies have given scope for women empowerment and foreign policy has increased the stature of the country.”

The Jana Sena leader, whose party will be contesting the Telangana polls in alliance with the BJP, said a Telangana with social justice will come in handy in achieving the vision envisioned by the PM for making India a developed nation by 2047 and added that he would by the PM and the BJP leaders in this endeavour.

“Telangana state was formed after an arduous struggle, but it hasn't been able to deliver justice on the core agenda of water, funds and jobs which were central to the statehood struggle,” Pawan Kalyan said.

After the meeting, Modi met the representatives of 35 BC organisations along with party leaders G. Kishan Reddy, Eatla Rajendar and Bandi Sanjay.

Bairi Shankar, general secretary of the Mudiraj Sangham, said, “After a meeting with all 35 organisations, PM Modi backed Rajendar for the CM post.”

Earlier, BJP state leaders thanked Modi for taking a path-breaking decision to make a person from the BC community the chief minister of Telangana, if the party wins. Kishan Reddy said Modi stood by his promise of ‘Sab Ka Saath Sab Ka Vikas’.

“The Congress, BRS and AIMIM are birds of the same feather and are together indulging in corruption and serving the interests of the respective families. It is the Congress and the BRS which shared power. They both voted against the first ST President Droupadi Murmu,” he said.

Dr K. Laxman, BJP OBC Morcha president, felt that the announcement of BC CM has sent a shiver down the spine of the opposition parties like the Congress. “These parties try to use the BCs only as vote givers. The Nehru family which ruled us for more than 50 years did not care about us. It was the Modi government which gave constitutional status to the BC Commission. The Modi government has 25 OBCs in his ministry along with SC and STs. Enabling reservation among central schools and public sector enterprises for BCs has given scope for improvement of BCs.”

Rajendar, campaign committee chairman, said, “Even as the BJP recognised that the BCs are being denied their due and announced that it would make a BC CM, Rahul Gandhi is ridiculing the proposal. I question the Congress why they failed to make a BC CM so far.”
