Modi's Silence on KLIS Shows his Support for BRS, Says Congress

HYDERABAD: Finding fault with the Centre for its inaction on the alleged quality defects discovered in the Kaleshwaram lift irrigation scheme (KLIS), TPCC vice-president Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Tuesday alleged that the people understood that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was trying for the victory of the BRS.

He said the Prime Minister had remained silent on the Kaleshwaram issue during his speech at the LB Stadium here on Monday even after a Central team had submitted a report on the quality defects.

On the pretext of BC Atma Gourava Sabha in Hyderabad, Modi was trying to mislead the people on OBCs issues, Kiran Kumar Reddy said.

In Telangana, Kiran Kumar Reddy said, the BJP had appointed Kishan Reddy as the BJP state president ahead of Assembly elections, after removing OBC leader Bandi Sanjay. Further, he said Modi ignored OBC leader Keshav Moria, who got a thumping majority in Assembly polls for CM post, and appointed Yogi Adityanath as CM. When the Women Reservation Bill came to the fore, he said Modi did not provide reservation for OBC women.

Wherever there is an opportunity to appoint the Chief Minister, the TPCC vice-president said Modi preferred candidates from the forward communities. It is a known fact that the BJP could not come to power in Telangana, so PM Modi is chanting the OBC CM mantra, he criticised.
