Revanth to file nomination papers in Kamareddy tomorrow
Kamareddy: TPCC president A. Revanth Reddy, accompanied by Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, will visit Kamareddy on Friday. Throwing a challenge to Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao, Revanth Reddy will later file his nomination papers as a Congress candidate.
Siddaramaiah will release the Backward Classes (BC) Declaration of the Congress party during the meeting here. Former PCC president V. Hanumantha Rao had urged the party high command to assure a separate BC ministry, caste-wise census, sub plan and a special budget for BCs, when the party comes to power.
Hanumantha Rao is hopeful that the creamy layer will be removed from the OBC after Rahul Gandhi becomes the Prime Minister.
Many from the party believe that the BC Declaration will be a game-changer in the ensuing Assembly election.
Meanwhile, on behalf of Revanth Reddy, senior leader Mohammad Ali Shabbir filed nomination papers here on Wednesday.
