Kodikunnil Suresh shuns Oommen Chandy, moves to VMS camp

Mr Suresh took a public stand against Mr Chandy rejecting the high command's choice of DCC presidents.

Kollam: Discontent is brewing in ‘A’ group as Kodikunnil Suresh has apparently deserting the Oommen Chandy camp and shifting his loyalty to V.M. Sudheeran after the Congress high command refused to retain him as Kollam party chief.

He also convened a secret group meeting in his office in Kottarakkara last week. His drift towards Mr Sudheeran was evident since his appointment as the DCC president last year.

He had publicly admitted that he got “desirable recognition” “only” after Mr Sudheeran started calling shots, much to the chagrin of the ‘A’ faction.

Mr Suresh also took a public stand against Mr Chandy rejecting the high command's choice of DCC presidents, saying he should have approached it instead of making his dissent public.

The ‘A’ group is now planning to complain to the high command against his public criticism as Mr Chandy had refrained from public statements after the AICC ban following a nasty duel between Rajmohan Unnithan and K. Muraleedharan.

He said he was part of the group of A.K. Antony and would remain "loyal to him who helped me attain this position."
