H D Kumaraswamy: Will do it my way, experts more reliable than govt officials
Mysuru: State Janata Dal (Secular) chief H.D. Kumaraswamy plans to replicate the “Ballavarondige Boudhdhika Chinthane” or interaction with experts from various sectors that he held at Kalamandir here on Monday if his party is elected to power in the coming assembly polls.
“I will invite experts to Vidhana Soudha every month for a similar interaction if we come to power, and will plan development work based on their advice and not that of an IAS or IPS officer. I will also allow direct entry of common people to the Chief Minister's office,” he said.
Accusing the national parties of trying to mislead people with their pre- poll surveys, he asserted, “We are sure of coming to power independently without any party's support.”
Urging the people not to opt for a coalition government and give his party just 113 seats, he said, “We can easily win eight seats in Mysuru alone.”
The state Janata Dal (Secular) president claimed that no party had approached him so far for a poll tie-up, and no Ahinda leader had come forward to join his party either.
As for elections in Channapatna, Mr Kumaraswamy said that the JD(S) had not entered into any arrangement with any party to win them.
Virtually listing his party's poll manifesto, he said if it formed the government, it would make sure there was no political interference in the appointment of Vice chancellors of universities.
“We will implement the Swaminathan report within a month after we come to power and will clear Rs 51 crore in farm loans given by nationalised banks. We will ensure that a support price is given when the crops do not fetch enough in the markets and provide WiFi in all villages," he declared, adding that his government would invite 200 experts from Israel to help Karnataka improve its agriculture practices.
