Adilabad district Congress meets for ‘Haath Se Haath Jodo’ launch
Adilabad: The Adilabad district Congress leadership organised a review meeting on Sunday to prepare ground for the party’s all-India “Haath Se Haath Jodo” padayatras, including in the district from January 10 to January 26.
The meeting witnessed frank talk by several second-rung leaders of Congress party on the occasion. They maintained that party posts must be given to those who work hard and not distributed like chocolates to supporters of senior leaders who remain inactive.
Adilabad district Kisan cell representative B. Mallesh said it is high time views of cadres and second-rung leaders are taken when giving party posts, instead of announcing them unilaterally.
Speaking at the review meeting, party leader Chanti said taking photos and videos with leaders and posting them on Congress party social media groups may give positive results to some leaders. But such tactics will not help strengthen the party from grassroot levels.
Congress party working president Bhupelli Sridhar said many mandal and block level leaders are not working actively, though they have got party posts. It is high time they change their attitude, become active and organise party programmes.
All senior Congress leaders, including DCC president Sajid Khan, expressed displeasure over some party mandal presidents not working actively and warned that they will be replaced if they do not change their attitude. Sajid Khan underlined TPCC president Revanth Reddy’s insistence on having active leadership in place at the booth, village and mandal and block levels for strengthening the party.
Adilabad district Sevadal president Mothi Ram underlined that there must be unity among leaders aspiring for party tickets. Such leaders should attend party programmes collectively to send a message that Congress is no more a divided house.
Among those who spoke included TPCC state general secretary Gandrath Sujatha, party tribal wing state vice-president Bharath Chouhan, party district general secretary Chandraiah, Adilabad Mahila Congress president and Utnoor ZPTC Charulatha Rathod, former Adilabad municipal chairman Digamberao Patil, town president Gudipelli Nagesh, Congress senior leader Syed Nissar of Utnoor, Youth Congress district president Charan Goud, Youth Congress assembly constituency general secretary Rupesh Reddy and NSUI district leader Shanthan Rao.
