Anantapur: Following reports of a meeting between Telugu Desam Party chief N. Chandrababu Naidu and Jana Sena president Pawan Kalyan on Sunday, speculations of a tie-up between the two parties in the forthcoming assembly elections have further strengthened.
A tie-up between TD and JS will mean several seats for Jana Sena in Anantapur and other regions of Rayalaseema., as percentage of Kapus in the region is high. Assembly ticket aspirants within the Telugu Desam may thus have to sacrifice their ambitions and give up their claims on seats.
Significantly, former Anantapur MLA V. Prabhakar Chowdary of TD has announced that he is ready to give up the seat if the party high command allots Anantapur Urban seat to Jana Sena.
“I am ready to sacrifice my seat if Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan contests from Anantapur Urban constituency. I will actively campaign for him,” Prabhakar Chowdary declared.
The TD leader, as Anantapur Urban in-charge of TD, has been hoping to get the seat in the upcoming assembly general elections.
Apart from Anantapur Urban, other constituencies that could go to Jana Sena in Anantapur district and its environs are Hindupur and Tirupati, apart from other seats in Rayalaseema.
