YSRC Sought Disqualification of 4 MLAs and 2 MLCs for Rebelling Against Party

Vijayawada: The ruling YSRC has initiated stern action against those MLAs and MLCs who have crossed the line, disobeying the party orders seeking disqualification against the rebel MLAs and MLCs.

The YSRC filed a complaint with the offices of the Speaker of AP Legislative Assembly and the Chairman of the AP Legislative Council to disqualify the defected MLAs and MLCs.

Chief Whip Mudunuri Prasada Raju and former minister Vellampalli Srinivas have filed complaints to cancel the legislative memberships of four MLAs who defected from the YSRC party.

They sought disqualification of MLAs Vundavalli Sridevi, Anam Ramanarayana Reddy, Kotam Reddy Sridhar Reddy and Mekapati Chandrasekhara Reddy and MLCs Vamsi Krishna and C. Ramachandraiah for violating party whip.

MLC Vamsi Krishna recently joined the Jana Sena while C. Ramachandraiah joined TD. On the other hand, four MLAs who acted against the party during the MLC elections last year were suspended. While the party has been finalising the constituency in-charges, this decision taken by the party high command has gained importance.

The sources said that the Rajya Sabha elections would be held in March hence to avoid disturbances, YSRC high command resorted to disqualifications.
