Gujarat model for Adani, TS model for KCR family: Chhattisgarh CM
KARIMNAGAR: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said the Congress wanted to replicate his state government model across the country, citing his pro-farmer policies.
Speaking at the concluding leg of the Haath Se Haath Jodo padayatra at the Ambedkar stadium in Karimnagar on Thursday, Baghel said that any thought about Telangana invokes thoughts about Karimnagar.
“There is a unique relation between Telangana state and the Karimnagar district. Why? Because Karimnagar is the place from where Sonia Gandhi promised the people of Telangana that she will give statehood for Telangana,” Baghel, who was the chief guest, said.
Questioning the public if they were happy, if farmers were satisfied and if unemployed people were doing well in Telangana, he said that only Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao and his family members got jobs since the formation of a separate state.
Slamming the ‘Gujarat model’ and the ‘Telangana model’ of governance espoused by the BJP and BRS, respectively, he said: “Collecting all the money from the people, depositing it in the bank and handing over that bank to Adani and Ambani is the Gujarat model. Giving jobs and ensuring benefits to only KCR and his family members is the Telangana model.”
Explaining the Chhattisgarh model of the Congress, he said: “In Chhattisgarh, the government waived off `2 lakh of farm loans at one go and is providing MSP of Rs 2,660 for paddy, along with giving bonus and sanctioning unemployment dole of Rs 2,500 for unemployed youth.”
“In the reign of the Congress government, farmers will get respect and will benefit. The Congress is ready to form a new Telangana state for the welfare of the poor and farmers, and to protect the people from the cruel ruling of the BRS government. People should think hard which model they want,” he said.
