No cooperation from PM, Centre, say BRS ministers
HYDERABAD: The ruling Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leaders continued their tirade against Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the second day on Sunday for his remarks at a public meeting on Saturday at Parade Ground in Secunderabad criticising the Telangana government.
Ministers T. Harish Rao, Talasani Srinivas Yadav and Vemula Prashant Reddy as well as BRS MPs K. Keshava Rao and K.R. Suresh Reddy came down heavily on Modi accusing him of converting 'official programme' into a 'BJP programme' and levelling “false and baseless” allegations against Telangana government. Harish Rao, who took part in BRS Athmeeya Sammelan at Raghavapur in Siddipet district, claimed that PM Modi spread falsehood that the Telangana government was not cooperating with the Centre in implementing development programmes.
"It was Modi who stopped the Kazipet railway coach factory and Bayyaram steel plant that were promised to state under AP Reorganisation Act, 2014. He stopped '30,000 crore loans to Telangana after it refused to implement his decision of installing electricity meters for agriculture pumpsets," Harish Rao said.
Srinivas Yadav challenged BJP leaders for an open debate on development and corruption in Telangana. "The way Modi participated in official programmes and addressed a public meeting clearly shows that he came to Hyderabad just to criticise BRS and CM KCR. Kishan Reddy served as Amberpet MLA for 15 years and Secunderad MP for four years. Can Kishan Reddy tell what development he did in Amberpet and Secunderabad during this time."
Minister Prashanth Reddy termed Modi as the “most corrupt politician” in India. "Modi is helping his friend Adani loot public wealth and getting kickbacks in return. He is using this ill-gotten wealth to dethrone opposition governments. He tried to destabilise the BRS government by purchasing four MLAs. Modi has no right to talk about corruption," he said.
Dr Keshava Rao stated that the PM himself was the “biggest obstructor of development” in Telangana. "He denied projects and funds that were promised to Telangana in AP Reorganisation Act. How can he claim now that the state government was not cooperating with Telangana in implementing development programmes."
MP Suresh Reddy said, "Modi says there is family rule in Telangana. He should realise that the entire Telangana is KCR's family. KCR is the head of Telangana family of four crore people. As an elder man of the family, KCR is taking care of all the people with his development programmes and welfare schemes. What's wrong with this?
