Bandi gets a hero's welcome
Telangana BJP president Bandi Sanjay Kumar got a rousing reception on his arrival at Parade Ground for the Modi event and public meeting. BJP cadre promptly picked him up, and carried him on their shoulders amidst loud cheers. MLA Etala Rajendar too was picked up by his supporters briefly, while MLA G. Raghunandan Rao and MP Arvind Dhramapuri received raucous reception by the crowd.
Talasani, the silent spectator
Animal husbandry minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, the designated minister-in-waiting for Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s visit to Hyderabad, was stoic when Modi flagged off Telangana’s second Vande Bharat Express from Secunderabad to Tirupati. Governor Dr Tamilisai Soundararajan and several others on Platform No. 10 at Secunderabad clapped as the train began moving. Yadav did not join in.
Kishan’s organisational acumen to the fore
Union minister G. Kishan Reddy’s stamp was there for all to see at the Parade Ground event of the Prime Minister. Reddy, who heads the ministry of culture, was at the venue a couple of hours before Modi’s arrival to oversee last-minute arrangements. And to keep the crowd that was increasing by the minute engaged, there was a classical dance performance, a drum team from Maharashtra and students from a Veda Pathashala reciting hymns.
It’s Modi mania all the way
The Narendra Modi mania was evident at the public meeting venue. Groups of BJP workers raised slogans and chanted the now trademark “Modi Modi” every time an image of the Prime Minister flashed on the giant screens at the venue. From the first image of him landing at the Begumpet airport to his arrival at Parade Ground, the “Modi Modi” crescendo kept rising, reaching a deafening peak as soon as he walked on to the dais.
Pat for city police for a job done well
The city police really worked hard to keep things going smoothly at the Parade Ground despite tens of thousands of people gathering at the venue. The entire process went off smoothly from the entry to exit. The primary responsibility of organising the public event was that of the South Central Railway which deployed a large number of its staff and officials to assist the police.
Kishan Reddy, lone BJP state leader on the dais
The event at the Parade Ground was an official one. With that being the case, all the BJP leaders, including Bandi Sanjay Kumar, were seated in the VVIP section of the audience. The only BJP leader from Telangana to be on the dais was G. Kishan Reddy, in his capacity as a Union minister from the state.
