Hyderabad: Appealing to the youth passionately and giving them courage by promising to bring to fruition all their aspirations, Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee president A. Revanth Reddy enthused them with the Hyderabad Youth Declaration.
Revanth Reddy reminded them of the Osmania and Kakatiya universities, calling them bookmarks of Telangana pride for giving voice to people and kindling their spirit.
In line with the spirit of the declaration, Revanth Reddy promised to fill the 2.5 lakh jobs currently vacant in the state. He further promised to fill the backlog posts of SC, ST, BC and minority communities.
“A job calendar will be released on June 2 every year and appointments will be given by September 17. Unemployed youth will get Rs 4,000 allowance per month. The Telangana State Public Service Commission, which has become a political rehabilitation center for undeserving political followers of the BRS, will be strengthened and appointments will be made on the lines of the Union Public Service Commission every year,” he said.
A youth commission would be established and 75 per cent of the jobs would be reserved for locals in industries. An interest free loan of Rs 10 lakh would be given to unemployed youth. Jobs in the Gulf would be filled under the aegis of the Telangana government so youth aspirants don’t fall victim to cheating by agents, Revanth Reddy said.
A special law will be made to deal with such agents. Efforts will be made to bring back those stranded in jails having fallen victim to the machinations of the agents, the Congress leader said.
Further buttressing the agenda, he said, Palamuru, Telangana, Mahatma Gandhi and Satavahana universities will be upgraded into integrated universities and new ones set up in Adilabad, Khamman and Medak. A varsity will also be specially established for police and RTC workers.
Speaking at the meet Congress Legislature Party leader Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka said that Sonia Gandhi gave Telangana though the party did not have a majority to end the suffering of youth who were making sacrifices.
The other leaders who were present on the dias included former MP V. Hanumantha Rao, MP Uttam Kumar Reddy, former ministers K. Jana Reddy and Ponnala Lakshmaiah, Ponnam Prabhakar, Mohd. Azharuddin and Renuka Chowdary, among others. AICC incharge and senior leader Komatireddy Venkat Reddy was conspicuous by his absence.
