MLA Gampa Govardhan urges KCR to contest from Kamareddy

KAMAREDDY: Government whip and Kamareddy MLA Gampa Govardhan urged Chief Minister K. Chandrashekar Rao to contest from his constituency in the upcoming elections. Initially, KCR was a native of Konapur village in Bibipet mandal of Kamareddy district and his parents migrated to Chintamadaka village in Medak district, he said.

Govardhan, who participated in various developmental programmes in Arepally village in Rajampet mandal on Tuesday, said that he had wholeheartedly invited KCR to contest from Kamareddy as the latter developed his Gajwel constituency in all fronts. "I met minister K.T. Rama Rao recently and informed him the same, he said.

"Retiring from an MLA post is not an easy decision, but I decided to work as an activist if KCR contests from my constituency," he said. Minister KTR developed the government school in their native Konapur by spending ' 5 crores and we are expecting the same here too, said the MLA, who asked senior Congress leader Mohammad Ali Shabbir to think why the people defeated him four times there.
Govardhan has been representing the Kamareddy constituency as an MLA five times since 1994.
